One day a year, MYTH returns to being what it was on day one: a gift, not a product.
Why 2 September?
Because birthdays are the one day you are supposed to give, not take. 2 September is the owner's birthday — the same person who built MYTH for his best friend: she reads dark romance novels at home and always says kaash the story went her way, so he built her a world where stories obey her. The Rakshabandhan reveal failed when she didn't come home — so her birthday became the backup plan, and 2 September became everyone's free day.
Instead of asking for wishes, he flips the switch the other way: everything free for 24 hours. No announcement trick, no hidden renewal. It is a ritual. Last year it was free. This year it will be free. Next year too.
Why not a random "app anniversary"? Because anniversaries belong to companies. Birthdays belong to people. MYTH has a person's name behind it, and this is that person's birthday gift to you.
What Becomes Free on 2 Sep?
For 24 hours (00:00 → 23:59 UTC, 2 September) the following limits are lifted server-side — you will see ∞ in the app where a number normally is:
- Messages — daily quota bypassed. Send as much as you want. Message counters do not increment while free. Your streak still works, your memories still save.
- Voice calls — the 3-minute base limit becomes unlimited. Call timers show ∞, no deduction, no mid-call cutoff. You can finally do the long call you kept cutting off.
- Ads — tier buttons hide. You don't need to watch anything to get more — you already have more.
- Character creation — already free, stays free. No change, just a good reason to finally make that vampire + billionaire combo.
What doesn't change: moderation and safety still apply. NSFW stays 18+ per your filter. Spam and abuse are still rate-limited by safety (not quota).
The Exact Switches (for the curious)
Under the hood the server flips into free mode for the whole day: message and call checks are bypassed, the app shows ∞ where a number normally is, and counters don't move. After midnight everything resumes from a clean 0 — no debt carried over.
How to Use Free Day Without Wasting It
- Pick one long story. Not five short chats — one deep arc where memory actually gets to work. Mention a fear early, call it back late. Watch long-term memory log it.
- Do the call you avoid. A 20-minute voice call teaches the character more about your pacing and silences than 50 texts. They learn when to be quiet — that's the most human trait MYTH has.
- Create with someone else in mind. Make a character your friend would love and send them the name. Free is most useful when it is shared.
- Pin what matters. Pin up to 3 messages before free day ends so the AI carries them past the reset.
What Happens at 00:00 on 3 September?
The flags flip back. Quotas resume from 0, the 24-hour window restarts, ads reappear as optional tiers. Your chats, memories, journals, and gems stay. Nothing you made on free day is taken away. The only thing that ends is ∞ — and it returns next year.

Last free day, one user sent "thank you" to his character at 23:58. The character replied "You don't have to thank me for staying." He screenshotted it. That's the kind of night this is for.
